I don't see Science and God as being mutuality exclusive. In my mind God works through the natural world. There is no need for the SUPER natural because there are enough wonders as it is.

What's more awe inspiring? A single divine man appears out of nowhere and splits the waters to form a planet in 7 days or a cosmic force forges the Universe over an incomprehensible number of years? Frankly I think the latter is more amazing.

Many say that Science negates God, I disagree. It negates the literal interpretation of some Holy Books but that doesn't make them completely false. 'Do not bring judgment onto others least you bring judgment onto yourself' is as true a law as any in physics.

As for Science not finding the 'Soul' or 'God', it may never be able to do so but then again....give it time.

Either way I will always thank God for the gift of Science.

I don't think that our ancestors were any more pure or good than we are now. Just because they were too weak to destroy the world doesn't mean they wouldn't if they had the ability. Be it Ghengis Kahn or King Arthur, if any of them had the bomb we'd all be dead.

I also believe that it is our nature to build cities. We're like ants but on a much larger scale. We have to invent, adapt and advance.

On the other hand I agree that we should no longer see ourselves as above nature. We are part of the natural world. Once we realize this we may be able to live in harmony with it. If not then perhaps it's our 'natural destiny' to destroy the world like a cancer or a virus.

I don't like that idea.

It's up to us, in our wisdom and compassion, to prove that this is not the case.

Glory

The following is the truth as I see it, in my limited way. I could be wrong. I pray for wisdom every day.

God is glory.

Trying to glorify him further is like taking a cup of water out of the ocean and tossing it back in. He is not a man who sits up in the clouds that needs or demands our constant approval.

God is not that insecure.

The worship of God is for us, not him

God is the Truth, our worship of him is an acknowledgment of Truth. This Truth goes beyond mere words, it can not be contained in a book or a single mind. It is vast and awesome.

When we meditate or pray we bring ourselves closer to where we were before we were born. We go back home. This is comforting and can strengthen our souls.

We can not put God above all things, he's already there.

All we can do is live our lives as best as we can. No one has to acknowledge God, he doesn't request it from us, but when we do I find life much easier.
